Here it comes! When your delivery date is due. And the moment has arrived for meeting the newborn.
You start to daydream every second to see the baby.
But before that, you need to pack all the essential things required for delivery at the hospital.
Here I will brief you, on all the basic and necessary things to pack along when you have crossed the 34th week of pregnancy. During my pregnancy, these are the things
I packed and some are the ones that I missed to take. So, it might be helpful for you when packing a hospital bag.
For Mother
- Hospital documents and test reports
- Your ID proof (Aadhar card/PAN card), husband’s ID proof, Passport size photo, Medical Insurance card, baby registration number, hospital doctor report, and scan)
- Maternity dress (Some comfortable maternity dresses for breastfeeding like Nighty, loose clothes, churidar, gowns, as per your preference)
- Towel ( Bathing towel for yourself and your partner)
- Toiletries (soap, toothbrush, shampoo, hair conditioner, moisturizer) are essentials for managing Hospital days.
- Nursing bra ( Always wear a good supportive bra for your comfort)
- Nightdress ( Make yourself comfortable at the hospital with some regular homie dresses)
- Bag
- Heavy flow Maternity pads (I Am attaching the brand of pad I used post-delivery which is very helpful
- Panties fixator
- Flask (Hot flask or kettle for hot water or milk to use)
- Water bottles
- Wallet
- Cell phone and Mobile charger
- Breastfeeding pillow
- Slippers or Socks
For newborn
- Newborn dress (Take some dress for your baby)
- Mittens
- Socks
- Head cap
- Diaper (Newborn baby diaper sizes)
- Wet wipes (Good non-fragrance wet wipes for a newborn)
- Baby towel (soft towel for baby to dry them after bath)
- Baby holder cover ( Swaddle baby cloth, baby holder)
- Quick dry sheet ( it is always better to avoid wetness for the baby one of the most essential products is a quick dry sheet)
- Swaddle cloth baby
- Burping cloth
- Cloth diaper (It is not always recommended for branded diapers for babies you can try breathable, chemical-free diaper
- Disposable covers
- Breast pump
Hospital bag checklist for partner
After spending time packing for mom and baby it’s time to pack for your partner since they have to spend long hours in Hospital and during Labor. And a few things to keep them occupied.
- Laptop/Mobile charger/ cell phone
- Toiletries bag
- Extra clothes
- Snacks and beverages
Above mentioned items are some of the items I packed during my delivery time.
You can consider this for your hospital packing. You may have some additional items too. If so ensure to pack before your due date.
